“Open hearted and hopeful, blisssed and blessed, thankful and thoughtful. A curious creator, lover, mover and shaker, melody maker who is inspired by adventure, love, sound and shape, colour and dreams, nature and kindness. I savour things that speak to and stir the heart.”
A few days ago Ashley Ball and David Buckingham of Hey Ocean, Ryan Guldemond of Mother Mother, Khari McClelland and myself got together with some of the students from the Saint James Music Academy Choir to perform “We Find Love” by Daniel Caesar. It was a beautiful and heartwarming experience. The end result is this magical video.
We Find Love
A few months ago I had the honour and privilege to work on the music for an amazing documentary called “The Issue of Mr. O’Dell” by film maker Rami Katz. The film is about Jack O’Dells work during the Civil Rights movement. Jack is a brilliant man who worked closely with Dr. Martin Luther King. He is a beautiful person with a sharp mind, unwavering faith, and extreme passion. He is a legend and an unbelievable resource of knowledge and power…he also is a resident of Vancouver. Jack’s story is powerful and relevant. I have watched this documentary many times and it still moves me, educates me and inspires me each time. The doc is currently being shown at festivals around North American and is winning awards! It was part of the DOXA Festival on May 5th and May 8th.
